Özet: In this study, effects of postharvest salicylic acid (SA) treatments on cold storage life and quality of apricot cv. Aprikoz were investigated. Fruits were harvested at the firm ripe stage optimum harvest time and immersed in different doses (0 (control), 1, 2 and 4 mM) of SA solution (%0.01’lik Tween 20) for 10 minutes. After treatments, fruits were held at room conditions for drying during 30 minutes. Dried fruits were placed in modified atmosphere packages (MAP) and stored for 35 days at 0°C and 90±5 % relative humidity. The weight loss, soluble solids content, titratable acidity, fruit flesh firmness, fruit skin color, respiration rate, ethylene production, gas compound of in package gas composition and sensory score (external appearance, taste and internal browning) were determined at the beginning of the storage and 7- day intervals during the storage period. As a result, all doses of SA gave better results than control groups in terms of some quality parameters. Especially, 2 mM dose of SA was the most effective treatment for decreasing weight loss and maintaining fruits firmness
