Özet: Throughout history, societies have faced various difficulties while living in different times and places. These difficulties occurred in both human and divine nature. The inevitability of social testing, as well as the existence of individual testing, appears in the whole of the Quran with the tests of the ancient ummahs. Social tests have taken place in the history of God by testing the nations, peoples and ummahs in various ways. The attitudes and attitudes adopted by communities differ in coping with difficulties and showing willpower. In the Qur'an, those who show a positive attitude in the face of calamities are described as patient and submissive, while those who have negative attitudes appear as reactions and behaviors that are described as rebels, complainers, and mourners. The subject of this study is to draw attention to the psycho-social dimension of the reactions of societies to calamities. The aim of the study is to examine the psycho-social dimensions of societies' attitudes in coping with difficulties and showing willpower in the light of verses. In this study, historical documentation technique was used in the context of micro method. As a result, it is seen that the Qur'anic dimensions of the reactions of societies in the face of difficulties are based on patience, submission or rebellion and complaint. In addition, it is seen that the reactions of societies are shaped around the psychological conditions of the individuals who make up the society and the psycho-social situation they are in. In addition, it was understood that the Quran emphasized that the attitude of the individual / societies against difficulties and calamities should be shaped around patience-based behavior types.
